Cleaning and Care
Many issues relating to poor suction are due to the vacuum requiring a clean. For maximum suction ensure that you have emptied the dust tank and cleaned the filters and intakes from debris and blockages.
Please refer to the following guide on how to complete a full clean on your Stick Vacuum:
Change The Filter
Filters can become clogged with dust over time.
It is important that you regularly clean your filters to increase the airflow. Over time filters may require replacing, it is recommended that HEPA filters are changed once a year minimum to maintain a healthy vacuum.
If you are experiencing issues with suction be sure to check your filters for damage.
Ensure The Battery Is Fully Charged
Vacuums will have maximum suction when the battery is 100% charged and will lose suction as the battery nears depletion. It is recommended that vacuums are charged for a full 10 hours before each use to maximise performance.
Over time maximum battery life will deplete, however, there are some tips below for maintaining a healthy battery:
- Store in a cool place. Warm temperatures can be harmful so avoid prolonged sunlight, particularly when it’s on charge.
- Lithium-ion batteries are more likely to be damaged if they are regularly fully drained. We suggest trying not to let your battery fall below 20% of charge. Little and often is the most effective way to keep your lithium-ion battery healthy, rather than regular deep drains.
- Fully drain the battery of the unit once per month. If you have a spare battery, swap the battery each month alternating between the two.

Setting The Correct Power For Your Flooring
Setting your vacuum to the correct power level will improve performance. It is also important to remember that you should be pushing the vacuum slower than your normal walking pace.
Floors Made From Tiles, Wood Or Other Hard Flooring Material
For these surfaces use the lowest setting in order to seal the vacuum cleaner closest to the floor, delivering the most powerful vacuum cleaner suction. A slow and even stroke with the vacuum should be used to allow the best suction. If the vacuum does not pick up the dirt and flicks the dirt out of the brush the settings are too high.
Plush Carpets Or Surfaces With Pet Hair
For these surfaces use the higher settings on the vacuum. Maintain a slow and even stroke of the vacuum. Stubborn pet hair may require a couple of passes to lift from the carpet.
Check For Air Leaks
If you are experiencing poor suction whilst the unit is in operation feel the air around the joints of the vacuum for air flowing out of the unit. If you feel air flowing out of the unit, turn the unit off and separate the sections and check for debris before attaching the sections together again firmly. If this does not resolve the issue, inspect the area for damage such as holes or cracks.
