In the event that water will not properly drain from your dishwasher, follow these steps to attempt to rectify the issue.
First, make sure the dishwasher is turned on and the door is closed securely. Make sure the power cord is properly plugged into the wall socket.
Confirm that you have running water to the house by testing with the kitchen tap.
Check The Water Supply And Supply Valve
Check that the water supply is connected properly and the water is turned on fully.
Check that the inlet hose does not have any kinks or twists in it and the dishwasher is not squashing or resting on the hose.
Dishwashers should only be installed by qualified professionals and should use new hoses. Confirm that the water inlet valve is set to the open position. You can find the location of the inlet valve by checking the user manual for your product or contact Kogan support for assistance.
Anti-Flood Mechanism May Be On
Some dishwashers are fitted with an anti-flood protection trigger. When this trigger is on water will not flow into the machine.
Ensure that the dishwasher is level and that there is no visible pooling of water at the bottom of the dishwasher. If water is pooling remove any food scraps from the drain which may be blocking the water.
Checking The Float Switch
Some dishwashers are fitted with what is called a float switch, this is generally located at the bottom of the machine and when clogged with debris will prevent the inlet valve from opening and allowing water into the dishwasher.
Check the float to make sure it isn’t stuck in the incorrect position from debris in the mechanism and remove any scraps.
Checking The Spray Arms For Blockage
Food scraps and scaling on your dishwasher may create a blockage between the pump and the spray arms, or the spray arms themselves might be blocked. Remove the spray arms as shown in your product manual and clean them using a descaler. Run the dishwasher without the arms attached to try and clear any blockages.
