When recording footage to an external device the flash storage device being used (USB or portable hard-drive) must be formatted in a specific way, to FAT32. Other formats, such as NTFS, APFS and ExFAT are not compatible with these TVs.
If you’re unsure of the format or would like to ensure that your storage device is properly prepared for PVR, please follow the instructions below.
Important - doing this will erase any data stored on the device, so ensure that you have your files securely backed up elsewhere.
With your USB or Portable Hard-drive inserted into the TV, start at the TV Options menu and select Settings, then Device Preferences, then Storage. From here then select the USB or Portable Hard-drive under “Removable storage”, select “Erase and format as device storage”.
Once complete your storage device will then be ready for recording.

Step 3. Then select Storage
Step 4: Select your storage device
Step 5: Select Erase & format as device storage
Once the drive is formatted, you can begin to record. For specific steps showing how to do this on your TV, navigate to your Order History, click on you your order, and click the "User Manual" button. Alternatively, locate your products model number and search it in the Kogan Help Centre.
