This page is designed to assist you if you find that the capacity of your washer is different from what you expected based on the rated kilogram load size advertised on the products listing.
The load weight rating describes the weight of the laundry load that the machine can comfortably and efficiently clean. So, for a 9kg washing machine, you can expect to fit a maximum of nine kilograms of dry laundry. The machine may be able to wash heavier loads but far less efficiently, using more water and electricity and taking far longer than it should.
This should not be confused with dryer capacity which is instead, measured by the weight of the damp laundry.
Please be aware, however, that the total capacity for the machine does not mean that this full amount can be washed for every cycle. For example, a 9kg washing machine will only wash a full 9kg load on specific programs.
To guarantee that the Kogan.com exclusive range meets the maximum load capacity stated in the product listing, every model has been given clearance by authorities representing the Commonwealth of Australia after they have made their assessment under these guidelines and many other requirements.
As such, our products carry all the relevant certificates to give our customers great confidence that their washer will function as intended.
Our entire range of washing machines are Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards (GEMS) and Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) tested and certified to their weight ratings.
The registration numbers can be found under the specifications tab of most listings, an example being that of the Kogan 9kg Series 7 Front Load Washing Machine (KAGFLWASH9A):
