Safety & Warnings
When using this electrical appliance, basic precautions should be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to a person, including the following:
- This heater must be used on an AC supply only and the voltage marked on the heater must correspond to the supply voltage.
- Do not switch the appliance on until it is properly installed as described in this guide.
- The heater must not be located immediately below a power outlet.
- Keep furniture, curtains and other flammable material at least 1 metre away from the appliance.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended during use or while it is connected to the mains power supply.
- This appliance is intended for indoor household use only and should not be used outside or for industrial purposes.
- Check the power cord frequently for signs of damage. Do not attempt to repair this product yourself. If the product or its power supply experience any malfunction or damage, stop using it immediately and contact Kogan.com to arrange a repair.
- Do not run the power cable under carpets, rugs etc.
- Do not allow the power cable to hang over sharp edges or come into contact with hot surfaces.
- Never immerse the product in water or any other liquids.
- Do not use if you have wet hands.
- Never use the appliance on or near hot surfaces.
- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is unplugged from the power and that it is completely cooled.
- Do not clean the appliance with abrasive chemicals.
- Never use accessories that are not recommended or supplied by Kogan.com.
- Do not lift the appliance by the front panel.
- Do not cut off bracket or change shape of the bracket.
- Do not use the heater in reach of a shower, bath or a swimming pool.
- In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
If the Appliance Will Be Wall-Mounted
- Make sure that the wall is capable of supporting the combined weight of the appliance. If necessary, have a qualified technician to reinforce the wall.
- Examine the wall you want to install the mount before you start the installation. Make sure that there are not hidden power supply cables, water pipes or other objects hidden in the wall that might be hit by the drill.
- At least two people with technical knowledge and experience are needed to install this product. Contact a qualified technician if you do not understand these instructions or parts of it, if you have doubts and if you do not have the required tools to hand.

Installation
Before Installation
- Unpack and ensure all parts are accounted for before beginning installation. If any parts are missing, contact Kogan.com.
- The hardware kit contains small items which should be kept away from young children. It is recommended to place all hardware (screws, etc) into a container to reduce the risk of losing any small pieces.
Stand Leg Installation Guide
- Place the heater on a flat, dry and clean surface. Install the legs as shown on the below drawing.
- Turn the heater the right way up and test the stability of its legs.
- Check that it is stable and secure before turning it on.
Wall Mount Installation Guide
- Use the bracket as a template and mark five-level drill positions on the wall.
- Put the bracket aside and drill holes with a depth of 35mm using an 8mm drill bit.
- Clean dust from the holes and insert a plugin each, ensuring the edge is flush.
- Hold the bracket in position and attach it with screws.
- Attach the braces to the bottom of the appliance using the short screws.
- Carefully lift the appliance and hook it to the wall bracket (Fig. 2, in a circle). Do not let the appliance go until you are sure it is secure.
- Mark the hole position for the braces (Fig. 3). Carefully remove the appliance from the bracket and drill holes with a depth of 35mm using an 8mm drill bit.
- Clean dust from the holes and insert a plugin each, ensuring the edge is flush.
- Place the heater onto the bracket again and attach the brace with screws.
Notes
- Read all instructions before beginning.
- Do not connect the appliance until securely attached.
- Observed minimum distances indicated. Mounting the product at a height of 600mm from bottom of heater to the floor is recommended for optimum viewing of the fuel bed. (see fig.1 above)
- Take care not to damage concealed cables.
- The wall bracket must be fitted horizontally and the cable routed to the bottom right of the heater.
App Installation
Download the “Kogan SmarterHomeTM” app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).
Register
If you do not have a Kogan SmarterHomeTM account, register or sign in with a verification code sent by SMS.
To register:
- Tap to enter registration page.
- The system automatically recognises your country/area. You can also select your country code manually. Enter your mobile phone number/email address and tap “Next”.
- If you choose the mobile phone number option, then enter the verification code in the message sent to you by SMS. Set a password as prompted and press “Confirm” to finish your registration.
Add Device Through Network
1. Power the SmarterHome™ device on and put the heater into pairing mode:

The heater is in pairing mode when it arrives, so if you are setting it up for the first time you can just use the Kogan SmarterHome™ app to pair the device as outlined in the steps below.

If you are unable to pair the device or need to repair it once it has been paired, then just press the WIFI Reset button for around 10s, then repeat the above step. The WiFi reset button is shown below.
2. Open Kogan SmarterHome™app and tap “+” in the upper right to add a new device through the network.
3. Ensure the device’s indicator light rapidly flashes and tap “Confirm light is rapidly flashing”.
4. Select Wi-Fi network (note: network must be 2.4GHz band) and enter the password.
The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app.
5. After successfully configuring the devices, the device will be shown on the home page. Tap to enter its control page.
Note:
- When device is online, it can be controlled.
- When device is offline, it displays “Offline” and cannot be remotely powered on.
Google Home Control
Note: You will need to have set up a Google Home account prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome™ device.
1. Select “Menu” and then “Home Control”.
2. In the “Home Control” screen, select the “+” icon in the bottom right.
3. A list will appear showing actions and a search function to access more apps from here, install the SmarterHome™ app.

4. Log into your SmarterHome™ account with your email address or mobile number.
5. Once linked, it will show the devices linked to your account, you can assign them to rooms. You will be prompted to authorise apps to sync.
6. Click “Done” and then it will give you a list of commands available.
7. When successfully linked, you will see it on your “Home Control” screen at the bottom of the app screen. You can now control your Kogan SmarterHome™ devices through Google Home.

Alexa
Note: You will need to have set up an Alexa account prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome™ device.
- Select “Menu” and then “Skills”.
- Search for the app and enable it.
- Log into your SmarterHome™ account with your email address or mobile number.
- Select “Discover Devices” and the app will begin searching.
- When successfully linked, you will see a list of connected Kogan SmarterHome™ devices. You can now control your Kogan SmarterHome™ devices through Alexa with your voice.

Operation
The appliance can be operated either by the switches located on the top right-hand side of the appliance or by the remote control.
Note:
There is a short delay between button input and receiver response. Do not press buttons more than once within two seconds.
- Turn on the standby switch.
- Press the power button once to turn on the appliance. The flame effect and backlight will turn on white. A red indicator light will appear to indicate that the function is ON.
- Press the 1000W button once for the low heat setting and press twice to switch off the heat setting.
- Press the 2000W button once for the high heat setting and press twice to switch off the heat setting.
- Press the FLAME button to cycle through flame colours.
- Press the BACKLIGHT button to cycle through backlight colours.

After the last option has been selected, the flame effect/backlight will turn off.
Safety Cut-Off
This appliance is fitted with a safety cut-off which will take effect if the heater overheats (e.g. due to blocked air vents). For safety reasons, the appliance will NOT automatically turn back on.
To reset the appliance, disconnect it from the mains power supply for at least 15 minutes, then reconnect it and switch it on again.
