Safety & Warnings
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions before use.
- Parts of this appliance will become very hot during use. Avoid touching any hot surface, always use the handles to open and close the appliance.
- Install the appliance on a heat-resistant, level surface: ensure that it is always secure, positioned horizontally and level during use.
- Position the appliance so that it is never against a wall or in a corner, against curtains or upholstery.
- Do not place the unit on a surface that could become hot. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- To protect against the risk of electric shock: do not immerse cord, plug or unit in water or any other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used by or near children.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory of mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Unplug the unit from outlet when not in use and prior to cleaning. Allow the unit to cool completely before cleaning it.

- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
- Do not use this appliance for any purpose other than its intended use.
- Ensure that the cord is not hanging over any sharp edges. Keep it away from hot objects and open flames.
- Do not place cooking utensils on the grilling surface when it is hot or during cooking, warming or reheating.
- Do not cover any part of the grill with aluminium foil. This will cause the appliance to overheat.
- Never use the appliance without the drip tray in place. Always fully assemble the appliance prior to plugging in the power outlet. Do not use the appliance if the drip tray is warped or deformed in any way.

Before First Use
Unpack the unit and remove all packaging materials. Before using the unit for the first time, wipe the outside of the unit with a clean damp cloth to remove any dust from shipping and dry it thoroughly. Wipe the grilling surface and drip tray. Refer CLEANING & CARE for complete cleaning instructions.

Operation
Caution: Take extreme care when cooking. The appliance must always be positioned horizontally during use. Hot oil, grease or juices may splatter when grilling. Do not touch any hot surfaces. Do not attempt to cut food on the grilling surface during the cooking process.
Note: Before cooking food for the first time, operate the appliance without food in order to bum off the residue on the grilling surface. You may notice a slight odour and/or smoke coming off the grilling surface for this first use. This is normal and will go away in a few minutes.
- Make sure that the appliance is clean and dry. Place the appliance on a level, heat-resistant surface, away from hot objects and open flames. Position the drip tray under the unit at the edge of the grill plate.
- With the unit in the closed position, plug the appliance into a power outlet. The red light will turn on, indicating that the power is ON and the unit is heating up.
- While the unit is preheating, prepare your food.
- Once the unit is preheated and ready to use (after about 3-5 minutes) the green light will come on. You can now place the food on the grilling surface.
- Using the handle only, open the unit, Place desired food onto the bottom grilling surface; if layering foods, make sure not to make it too thick. Close the unit. Caution: If there is too much food placed on the grilling surface, it will not be possible to close the appliance and some food should be removed. Never use force the appliance closed.
- Keep your hands away from the unit as steam may escape from the closed unit. During cooking, the light will cycle ON and OFF as the thermostat works to keep the unit at the right temperature,
- After approximately 3-5 minutes, open the unit using the handle to check on the food. If the food is ready, remove the food using a flat wooden or plastic spatula. Never use sharp or metal objects (e.g. knives, metal spatulas, etc.) as this will damage the non-stick coating. If the food requires additional cooking, close the unit and continue cooking the food. Use 1-minute increments when adding cooking time for best results.
- Close the unit to preserve the heat until you are ready to add more food. Wait for both lights to come on again before adding food. Repeat the cooking process as described above.
- Make sure to empty the drip tray if cooking additional foods. Exercise caution when emptying the drip tray as the contents may be hot.
- Once done using the unit, always unplug it immediately. Allow sufficient time for the unit to cool. Refer to cleaning instructions.

- For best results, always remember to pre-heat the grill so that it is hot. This will help to seal in all of the natural juices.

Cleaning & Care
Caution: Always unplug from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid. This may cause an electrical shortage and bodily harm. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or steel wool to clean the surface or the non-stick coating may be damaged.
- Ensure that the power cord is unplugged. Let the unit cool completely,
- Use paper towels to wipe off any excess grease or residue left on the grilling surface. You may use a wooden or plastic spatula to scrape off any remaining food residue. Wipe the surface clean with a soft, damp cloth.
- Carefully remove and empty the drip tray, Wipe the extra grease with paper towels. Wash the drip tray in warm, soapy water. You may also place it in the dishwasher.
- Use a damp cloth or sponge to wipe the outside of the unit.
- Never store the unit while it is hot or still plugged in. Always unplug the unit and allow it to cool.
- Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance. Do not place any stress on cord where it connects to the unit, as this could cause the cord to fray and/or break.
