If there is a white line across the bottom of your TV's panel, the overscan feature of your TV may require adjustment.
This function is designed to aid in viewing media that is not optimised for the aspect ratio of your TV, such as media produced before the early 2000s. Overscan allows the TV to scale the input image to fit the screen while avoiding the “letterboxing” phenomenon where black bars are visible to the sides of the image.
Occasionally, you may encounter issues when using an HDMI input device such as a gaming console where a bright line of white is visible at the bottom of the picture. This is due to the overscan feature not recognising the constraints of the picture that it is attempting to reproduce.
This can easily be adjusted through the menu settings, though the method required will differ depending on your model of TV.
LU- Series TVs
1. Change your TVs input to the HDMI port you want to adjust.
2. Press the 'Menu" button (Cog symbol) followed by 3, 1, 3, 8 on the remote. This should display the factory menu on the TV.
3. Scroll down to the 'Overscan' option and press OK, this will bring up the overscan menu.
4. Select each setting and reduce it to 0.
Please note, you can only adjust one HDMI port at a time. To adjust another port, you will need to repeat these steps once the relevant input has been selected.
