Safety & Warnings
When using the appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Read this instruction book carefully before use.
- Use the correct input voltage: 120V/60Hz.
- Unplug the appliance from power when the appliance is not in use and before maintenance and cleaning.
- Be careful not to touch the contact of the plug when you disconnect the power plug due to the risk of electrocution.
- The use of accessory attachments that have not been recommended by Kogan may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
- Do not touch any moving parts due to the risk of personal injury.
- The electronic scale is a precision device. Do not press hard on the scale as if the scales are weighed down with more than 3kg of force, this can damage the device.

Notes:
- When choosing "cup", choose between 1-12 cups, increase and decrease 1 cup for each click. Units: 8.25g/cup of coffee.
- If the initial weight of the scales is 4 cups, the selection range of the "+" and "-" button is between 4 and 12 cups.
- If the initial weight of the scales exceeds the maximum set weight, the "+" and "-" button cannot be operated.
- When choosing "Oz", choose between 0.10 and 3.50 ounces. The ounces increase or decrease by 0.05 ounces for each click, but the "+" and "-" cannot be cycled.
- If the initial weight of the scales is 1.15 ounces, the selection range of the "+" and "-" button is between 1.15 and 3.50 ounces.
- If the initial weight of the scales exceeds the maximum set weight, the "+" and "-" button cannot be operated.
- When choosing "g", choose between 3-100g. The minimum is 3g, the maximum is 100g, each increment and decrease is by 1g, but the "+" and "-" cannot be cycled.
- If the initial weight of the scales is 33g, the selection range of the "+" and "-" button is between 33 and 100g.
- If the initial weight of the scales exceeds the maximum set weight, the "+" and "-" button cannot be operated.
- When you select "0", this activates manual grinding, there will be no response when "+" and "-" buttons are pressed.
Operation
- Place the machine on a flat countertop, uneven surfaces will affect the accuracy or weight of the electronic scale.
- Select the appropriate setting according to the coarseness requirement of grinding the powder.
- Put the food or coffee beans into the unit.
- Use the power button to start/stop operation.
- After use has been completed, unplug the power cord.
Power On
Using the default mode: when plugged in, the buzzer beeps once, the device will count backwards from 3 to 1.
- The machine enters the default setting and displays the number of cups
, Number: 1 cup.
- Enter calibration mode: Do not place the powder box in the unit, when plugged into power, the buzzer beeps once, and the unit will count backwards from 3 to 1.Press the "Tare" and "Menu" button together to enter the calibration mode during the countdown.
Calibration
- The unit will display the version number "UX" ("X" is a number).
- Meanwhile, press the "Tare" and "Menu" button together, "Zero" is displayed.
- The machine will find the zero points automatically and will display CAL1 after the zero points are found.
- Place 500g weights onto the scale, the machine starts to calibrate automatically and displays "----".
- After finishing the calibration, if the calibration is successful, it will show a full display ("8888" and all symbols), if the calibration has failed, it will display "FLAS", if it has failed, unplug and re-plug the unit and try again.
- After the calibration has finished, press the “Tare” and "Menu" button at the same time to exit calibration mode.
In the standby state, you can press the “Menu” button and choose 4 options of "cup", "Oz", "g" and "0" (manual mode).
1. Select "cup": Choose 1-12 cups according to demand. Units: 8.25g/cup (The figure rounds down to an integer after the decimal point). If you select 4 cups and then press the start/stop button to start grinding, at this time, the number of real-time cups will be displayed and flashing, when the weight of coffee powder in powder container reaches 4 cups, the machine stops grinding. The number stops flashing and the buzzer beeps 3 times.
- While operating this menu option, there is a testing function to check if there are no coffee beans or no bean container attached.
2. Select "Oz": Select between 0.10- 3.50 ounces, if you choose 1.15 ounces and then press the start/stop button to start grinding, the number of real-time weight is displayed and flashing, when the weight of coffee powder in the powder container reaches 1.15 ounces, the machine stops grinding automatically, the number stops flashing and the buzzer beeps 3 times.
- While operating this menu option, there is a testing function to check if there are no coffee beans or no bean container attached.
3. Select "g": select between 3-100g, such as a selection of 33g and then press the start/stop button to start grinding, the number of real-time weight is displayed and flashing when the weight of coffee powder in the powder container reaches 33g, the machine stops grinding automatically, the number stops flashing and the buzzer beeps 3 times.
- While operating this menu option, there is a testing function to check if there are no coffee beans or no bean container attached.
4. Select "0": in this menu mode, the weighing function of the machine is turned off and the working time is 60 seconds. When you select the menu, "0" is displayed and then press the start/stop button to start grinding, the display will count 60 seconds and stops flashing. The machine stops working automatically after the timer reaches 60s or when the user presses the "Start/Stop" button to stop working.
- While operating this menu option, there is a testing function to check if there are no coffee beans or no bean container attached.
Please Note: While in operation, pressing buttons will not be responsive except for the start/stop button.
Other functions
- No coffee beans/no bean container check: While grinding (except in the 0-manual menu), if changes in weight can’t be detected within 5 seconds, the machine thinks there are no beans or no bean container and the machine automatically stops working. It will display "Err" (error), the buzzer will beep long once. Press the Menu button to eliminate the Err prompt, other buttons cannot be operated until the Err prompt is eliminated (except the Menu button). The buttons can be operated normally after the Err prompt is eliminated.
- Weight Anomaly Prompt: The 0-manual menu does not have this prompt.
If you experience the weight anomaly prompt, check the following:
- The prompt when the weight is minus: If the machine scale detects weight less than-1g weight it will display the
prompt;
- The prompt when the actual weight exceeds the set weight: If the machine scale detects the actual weight greater than or equal to the set weight, it will display the
prompt;
- The prompt when the actual weight exceeds the maximum of set weight: If the machine scale detects that the actual weight is greater than or equal to the maximum of the set weight it will display the
prompt and the "+" and "-" button cannot be operated;
- After normal grinding has finished and there is no
prompt, press the "Start/Stop" button again to start the grinding, if the above three cases appear, then the prompt is displayed after exiting it. The machine works normally if there is no
prompt.
Note: If the prompt displays, the machine can’t start grinding.
Operation of Tare
- In the standby state (except for the 0-manual menu), if the
prompt is displayed, press the tare button to net weight (takes 3 seconds). The character "0" is displayed with a loop and other buttons cannot be operated during this process. Buttons can be operated normally after the tare is finished. If the operation of net weight is successful, the testing weights of machine scale return to zero, the prompt symbol
disappears if failed, the
prompt will remain, please attempt to tare again.
Motor Protection
If cumulative grinding time (intervals of less than 10 minutes) is too high, grinding will not start when the start/stop button is pressed and an E01 prompt will display along with 2 short beeps.
If this occurs, allow the unit to cool for 1 hour. Once the prompt has disappeared, the unit can be used as normal again.
Note: The frequency of continuous grinding of the motor should be no more than 5 times in the setting of 100g or equivalent.
