- Read all instructions before using the appliance and retain for reference.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- This appliance is designed for consumer use: follow directions and use only as described.
- Install, use, repair and store only in a room larger than 5msq or with fire.
- Do not attempt to defrost any components of the unit by accelerated means such as hot water.
- Do not pierce or otherwise damage the piping.
- The air conditioner must be installed with a stop valve cover.
- Note that refrigerant may be tasteless.
- Turn the power off during storms and before cleaning or maintenance
- The air conditioner must be grounded. Incomplete grounding may result in electric shocks.
- Always switch off the device and cut the power supply when the unit will not be used for a long time.
- Don't allow water to contact the product or remote control or touch it with wet hands.
- Do not operate the unit if it has been dropped.
- Do not clean with water or corrosive liquids.
- Do not put hands or any other objects into the air inlets/outlets or allow them to be blocked.
- Ensure stand is secure.
- Do not allow the air conditioner to blow against heaters.
- Do not put weight on the outdoor unit.
- If your air conditioner is permanently connected to fixed wiring, an anti-explosion residual current device (RCD) with rated residual operating current within 30 mA should be installed in the fixed wiring.
- This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. If it suffers any failure or damage, cease usage and contact Kogan Support after consulting the Troubleshooting section of this manual.

Notes on Device Operation
- The fan will not start running immediately after heating has started to avoid blowing cool air.
- When the weather is sufficiently cold and wet, the outdoor unit may frost over. The air conditioner will start the defrost function automatically and stop heating, usually for 5-12 minutes.
- During this time, vapour may come out of the outdoor unit: this is normal.
- When defrosting is complete, heating will resume.
- When the air conditioner is turned off, the main controller will determine whether to stop immediately or to first run in low power for a short time.
Connect to SmarterHome™ App
Install App
Download the “Kogan SmarterHome” app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).
Register
If you do not have a Kogan SmarterHome™ account, register or sign in with a verification code sent by SMS.
To register:
1. Tap to enter the registration page.
2. The system automatically recognises your country/area. You can also select your country code manually. Enter your email address and tap ‘Next.’
3. Alternatively, you can select ‘Register by the mobile number’ and enter the verification code sent to you by SMS.
4. Create a profile on the next page to define your location and room.
Set device in pairing mode
Power the air conditioner on and press the Wi-Fi button on the remote 8 times to enter the Wi-Fi connection mode. The air conditioner will beep twice, indicating that Wi-Fi pairing mode is active. If no action is taken within ten minutes, Wi-Fi pairing mode will deactivate.
Using AP Mode to add a device
5. Once registered, tap “+” in the upper right corner of the app’s home page to add a new device through the network.
6. Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Heating & Cooling > Air Conditioners), and then select “Other Mode” from the top-right corner when asked to reset the device.
7. Select “AP Mode” for the set-up type.
8. Ensure that the device is in pairing mode and tap “Confirm”.
9. Enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your SmarterHome™ device and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup. This product is only compatible with 2.4Ghz networks.
10. Follow the in-app prompts to continue AP Mode connection, which will pair your mobile phone to the device’s Wi-Fi hotspot to ensure a connection.
Note: If the Wi-Fi hotspot does not appear on your phone in the list of available networks, your device may not be set in AP Pairing Mode correctly. Try repeating the steps outlined above to ensure your device is ready for connection.
11. The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until the connection is complete.
12. After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device listing to enter its control page.
Note:
- When the device is online, it can be controlled.
- When the device is offline, it displays "Offline" and can not be remotely powered on.
Google Home Control
Note: You will need to have set up a Google Home account prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome device.
1. Select “Menu” and then “Home Control”.
2. In the “Home Control” screen, select the + icon in the bottom right.
3. A list will appear showing actions and a search function to access more apps: from here, install the SmarterHome app.
4. Log into your SmarterHome account with your email address or mobile number.
5. Once linked, it will show the devices linked to your account: you can assign them to rooms. You will be prompted to authorise apps to sync.
6. Click Done, and then it will give you a list of commands available
7. When successfully linked, you will see it on your “Home Control” screen at the bottom of the app screen. You can now control your Kogan SmarterHome devices through Google Home.
Alexa
Note: You will need to have set up an Alexa account prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome device.
- Select "Menu" and then "Skills".
- Search for the app and enable it.
3. Log into your SmarterHome account with your email address or mobile number.
4. Select "Discover Devices" and the app will begin searching.
5. When successfully linked, you will see a list of connected Kogan SmarterHome devices. You can now control your Kogan SmarterHome devices through Alexa with your voice.
Operation
Product functions are controlled by the remote controller.
- Before first use, install batteries and ensure the "+" and poles are correctly positioned.
- Ensure the remote controller is pointed towards the air conditioner without obstructions and a maximum distance of 8m.
- Do not drop or damage the remote controller.
- Do not let any liquid in the remote controller.
- Do not expose the remote controller directly to sunlight or excessive heat.
- If the remote controller does not function normally, remove batteries for 30 seconds before reinstalling.
- If it does not work, replace batteries.
- Do not mix new and old batteries.
- Remove the batteries if not using for a long time.
- Dispose of batteries properly.

Remote Control Functions
1. Display Panel
2. ON/OFF
- Press this button to turn the unit on/off
- This will clear the existing timer and SLEEP settings
3. Speed
- Select the fan speed: Low > Mid > High > Auto (AUTO not available in FAN mode)
4. Display
- Press to turn display backlight on or off.
5. IFEEL
- Toggle temperature displays to show ambient/preset temperature.
6. Timer
- Set ON timer (when the unit is off) or OFF timer (when the unit is on)
- Press the button once, and the indicator will flash
- Use the Up and Down buttons to set the number of hours (interval of 0.5 hours from 0.5-10 hours, 1 hour from 10-25 hours)
- Press again to confirm the setting
- Once setting is confirmed, pressing this button again will cancel the setting
- When an ON timer is set, all function buttons (except SLEEP, DISPLAY and iFEEL are valid
7. iCLEAN
- Press with the unit off: the unit will automatically clean the dust off evaporator to increase cooling and heating efficiency
8. Up and Down (Set)
- Change temperature by 1°C increments or make changes during settings
9. Turbo
- Set fan speed to maximum (COOL and HEAT modes)
10. Mode
- Select mode: Auto > Cool > Dry > Heat > Fan
11. Sleep
- Sleep for 10 hours and resume operation (cannot be activated in FAN mode)
12. Swing
- Press to activate the louvre swing, which will continuously change the direction of the cool or warm air.
13. Anti-F
- When the air conditioner is turned off with the remote controller (COOL, DRY or AUTO modes), it will operate in HEAT mode with the internal fan running with at low power for 3 minutes before stopping in order to reduce moisture and prevent mould
- To turn the function on or off, press the Anti-F button with the unit turned off and it will beep to confirm: once set, this function will remain enabled except when the unit is power off or until it is cancelled
- This function is not set by default
Note: With Anti-F activated, the unit should not be turned ON again until it is fully OFF.
Anti-F function will be invalid when OFF timer is set.
Automatic Operation Mode
- Press the "MODE" button to select the automatic operation mode.
- Press the "SPEED" button to select the fan speed from LOW, MID, HIGH, AUTO.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button to begin operation.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button again to stop the air-conditioner.
Note: Temperature cannot be set / will not take effect in fan operation mode.
Cooling / Heating Mode
- Press the "MODE" button to select Cooling/Heating mode.
- Set the temperature with the up and down buttons.
- Press the "SPEED" button to select the fan speed from LOW, MID, HIGH, AUTO.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button to begin operation.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button again to stop the air-conditioner.
Fan Operation Mode
- Press the "MODE" button to select the fan operation mode.
- Press the "SPEED" button to select the fan speed from LOW, MID, HIGH, AUTO.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button to begin operation.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button again to stop the air-conditioner.
Note: Temperature cannot be set / will not take effect in fan operation mode.
Drying Operation Mode
- Press the "MODE" button to select the drying operation mode.
- Set the temperature with the up and down buttons.
- Press the "SPEED" button to select the fan speed from LOW, MID, HIGH, AUTO.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button to begin operation.
- Press the "ON/OFF" button again to stop the air-conditioner.
Note: Temperature cannot be set / will not take effect in fan operation mode.
Cleaning & Care
Warnings
- Shut down the air conditioner and leave off for 5 minutes before cleaning.
- Do not use volatile liquids such as thinner or gasoline. Do not allow the interior of the air conditioner to become wet.
- Pay attention to the state of the filter. If it becomes clogged with dust, this can adversely affect product function.
- After removing the filter, do not touch the fin part of the indoor unit or exert any force on the refrigerant pipeline.
Cleaning Panel
Clean panel surface with a soft dry cloth or a damp cloth moistened with a neutral detergent. Do not remove the panel and take care that water does not get in the product.
Cleaning Air Filter
Remove the air filter by opening the panel with both hands and pulling the filter out downwards.
Use a vacuum cleaner or water to rinse filter. If it is very dirty, dissolve a mild detergent into warm water
(below 45°C). Allow the filter to dry fully by air, and reinstall by following removal steps in reverse.
Before Use
- Ensure air inlets and outlets are unblocked.
- Ensure there is no blockage in the water outlet drain pipe.
- Ensure the ground wire is properly grounded.
- Ensure batteries are installed in the remote control and have sufficient power.
- Ensure the outdoor unit mounting bracket is undamaged. If there is, contact Kogan.com.
After Use
- Turn off the power and remove batteries from the remote control.
- Clean filter and unit body.
- Remove dust and debris from the outdoor unit.
- Ensure the outdoor unit mounting bracket is undamaged. If damaged, contact Kogan.com
