- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Do not use outside of indoor household use as described in this manual.
- Take care as the product will heat up and produce steam.
- Fill and drain water after unplugging. Drain after use.
- Do not allow the power cord to be exposed to water, heat and direct sunlight. Overhang where it can be pulled or otherwise it can be damaged or pose a hazard.
- This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. If it suffers any failure or damage, stop using and contact Kogan.com support after reading the Troubleshooting section of this manual.
Overview
Operation
Before first use
- Inspect the product and remove all adhesive tags and protective foils. Dispose of plastic packaging to avoid choking hazard for children.
- Hold the steam brush horizontally; set the temperature dial to the maximum while turning the steam dial off. Heat for a few minutes to clear residue.
- Note: A small volume of smoke and smell may be generated on first use. This is normal and in no way dangerous. Open a window to allow it to dissipate easily.
- Never attempt to attach or detach accessories when the appliance is hot.
- The appliance can be used as a traditional steam iron without any attachments.
- After a long period of use, the attachments may be affected by direct contact with the soleplate.
- For best results, use each appliance with strong steam.
Accessories
Hairbrush
- For dust on clothes, sofas, curtains, blankets, etc.
- To attach, align with the soleplate and push until it connects with a click.
- To detach, hold the handle with your one hand and the brush with the other. Slide the switch down, then raise the back of the brush until it disconnects.
Lint brush
- For fluff on clothes, sofas, curtains, blankets, etc.
- To attach, align with the soleplate and push until it connects with a click.
- To detach, hold the handle with your one hand and the brush with the other. Slide the switch down, then raise the back of the brush until it disconnects.
Instruction for use
- Fill with water and replace the cover, some force may be required.
- Attach the appropriate accessory for the garment you wish to iron.
- Set to the desired temperature.
- Plug into power and wait for a minute for the appliance to heat.
- Press the steam release button.
- It is best to test a piece of the same material before applying steam.
- Move over the whole garment while pressing the steam-release button to release steam evenly.
- If the appliance runs out of water before you have finished ironing, allow it to cool completely before refilling it. Never use the appliance without refilling water.
- While using the appliance, you will see that the power light indicator switches itself on and off. This is totally normal and occurs when the appliance adjusts the optimum ironing temperature.
- Unplug steam brush and iron combination when you finish using it.
Lint brush
- Some garments should be ironed inside out.
- Trousers can be ironed more easily when held from the bottom.
- When ironing, touch the fabric lightly with the iron and move it in different directions to remove wrinkles. Allow the iron to touch the fabric.
- The steam brush and iron combination can be used with various kinds of fabric, including silk, cotton, polyester and wool.
Cleaning & Care
Cleaning
- Allow the water to cool for 15 minutes and then carefully remove the water reservoir cap.
- Turn the appliance upside down to completely drain.
- Once cooled, clean the appliance and accessories. The cleaning brush is ideal for removing any fluff from the accessories.
- Unplug from power before cleaning.
- Do not use with solvents, alcohol or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Do not add detergents, chemicals, salt, perfume, dye or any other liquid except water into the water reservoir.
- Use only clean water. Using filtered, mineral or distilled water will prolong the appliance’s life. Tap water can also be used. Do not use chemically-distilled water.
Descaling
A common problem with steam irons is the accumulation of mineral deposits in the tubes, normally when tap water is used to fill the iron. If mineral or distilled water cannot be used, descaling can be carried out more frequently.
- Ensure the appliance is unplugged from the mains and cool.
- Make a solution that is 50% vinegar and 50% water. 60g is enough.
- Remove the water-reservoir cap and gradually pour in the solution
- Use for 40 minutes, add more solution when the tank becomes empty.
- Empty the remaining solution.
- Fill with water and then empty again. Repeat until vinegar smell has gone.
Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing general issues with your steamer, please try the following:
- Check to see if the appliance is boiled to dry.
- Unplug the unit for 10-15 minutes before plugging in and trying again.
