The earpiece or receiver of the phone will be the speaker you listen through while on a phone call.
Please note, your signal strength and the signal strength for the person on the other end of your call can severely affect the quality of sound.
If you are having trouble hearing through this, please ensure this speaker is not obscured or blocked. If there is any dirt or dust clogging the opening, please gently remove this.
During phone calls, you can increase the call volume by using the volume up and down buttons on the side of your handset.
On Android phones, you can test this speaker with the following steps:
- Dial *#0*# in your phone application - this will bring up a test mode.
- Choose ‘Receiver’ - this will play a sound through the earpiece of the phone
- Tap the screen to go back to the test menu, and double tap your back button to exit test mode
If you are not hearing any issues with the sound during this test, there is no issue with the earpiece of the phone, and the sound quality is likely due to signal strength, or obstructions.
