How Do I Record With My Smart TV's PVR?

To enable the PVR feature of your Smart TV, you must have a compatible USB 2.0 storage device.

This needs to be connected to the USB slot on the left side of the TV in order to store the recorded content.

We recommend the use of either a USB 2.0-compatible 2TB or less externally powered USB HDDs, preferably Seagate or Lacie branded as there can be known compatibility issues with WD (Western Digital) branded drives.

You can also use a USB flash drive with a capacity of up to 32GB.

Before you begin recording on your Smart TV, we suggest formatting the USB drive. Please note that this will wipe any data you have stored on the device, so we suggest backing this up before following the steps below:

To format your USB drive:

1. Press the MENU button and select the SETUP menu.
2. Scroll down to PVR File System, and press OK
3. Scroll down to Format, and press OK.

To set up On-Demand recording:

1. Ensure the DTV input is selected, and you are viewing DTV content.
2. Press the PVR button and the PVR will start recording live TV.
3. From here you can pause, rewind and fast forward live TV.

When you select the stop function, you will be prompted if you would like to confirm to stop recording, pressing the left arrow button will confirm this.

From here, the recorded content will be stored on your USB drive.

Please note that when you change the channel, the PVR will need to stop recording. You will be prompted if you would like to confirm this as well.

On-Demand recording will cease recording once the TV is put into standby mode.

To set up scheduled recording:

1. Ensure the DTV input is selected, and you are viewing DTV content.
2. Press the EPG/GUIDE button to bring up the EPG menu.
3. Use the UP and DOWN arrows to select the channel you wish to schedule a recording on.
4. Press the RED button to schedule the time of the recording.

The option of how frequently the scheduled program is to be recorded is selected first, use the LEFT and RIGHT arrows to change this selection.

The frequency is Once, other options are Daily and Weekly, use the UP and DOWN arrows to switch between changing the start and end times of the recordings.

Scheduled recording will record TV shows while the TV is in standby.
