My Bluetooth device disconnected, how do I reconnect my Smart Dongle?
Bluetooth may occasionally need to be disconnected and paired again to external devices.
Devices will typically not recognize the dongle if the device has been switched off for an extended period of time.
General Troubleshooting
The following troubleshooting steps should rectify most performance issues with your Smart Dongle, such as: freezing, lag, Wi-Fi connection problems or the dongle not powering on.
Restart the Dongle
Restarting the Smart Dongle often fixes minor issues that the system may encounter.
To restart the device, simply follow these steps:
1. Remove the dongle from the TV and disconnect the external power source.
2. Leave it unplugged for 1 - 2 minutes.
3. Insert the dongle into the HDMI port of your TV and reconnect the external power cord.
4. The device should automatically restart.
Check the External Power Supply
• For the HDMI Smart+ Dongle to run smoothly, it is required to be attached to an external power source via the miniUSB port.
• The dongle needs to be connected directly to a wall socket using the AC adapter, it will not be able to draw the required power from the USB port of the TV or other device.
• Ensure that you are using the original cable and adapter supplied with the Smart Dongle and check these for any damage.
Reset the Dongle
If you are still experiencing issues, resetting the dongle to its default settings should rectify this.
Please note that performing a reset will wipe any user data currently stored on the dongle.
To reset the device, insert a paperclip or pin into the small hole on the side of the dongle and push the button in for approximately 15 seconds.
