Before returning an Android phone or tablet for surface, the Google account linked to the device must be removed and the device reset, as outlined in Preparing Your Android Device for Service.
To remove your devices Google account, follow these steps:
- Head into your Settings > “Accounts and backup” or “Accounts and Sync”
- Select Manage Accounts
- Tap on the Google Account you would like to remove
- You will then need to select and reconfirm your action by tapping on “Remove Account”. If the “Remove Account” option is not available then look for a more options button that should display the option to remove the account.
